GATE - UnderstandinG dyslexiA phenomena beTween prE-primary and primary school

Period: 2009 - 2011
Period: 2009 – 2011
Funded by: European Commission Lifelong Learning Programme

The GATE project (UnderstandinG dyslexiA phenomena beTween prE-primary and primary school) is implemented in partnership between organisations from six European countries – Bulgaria, Italy, Luxembourg, Scotland, Spain and Turkey.

The project aims to create an educational model (GATE System) with three main goals:
  • To support pre-primary teachers in the early identification of pupils experiencing dyslexic difficulties;
  • To equip pre-primary and primary teachers with knowledge, skills and tools to support pupils experiencing dyslexic difficulties;
  • To ensure educational continuity between pre-primary and primary schools working with pupils experiencing dyslexic difficulties.

One School for All

One School for All is our most encompassing and wide-reaching cause, our raison d’etre. Our ultimate goal is comprehensive introduction and application of the principles of inclusive education.

Inclusive education is a process of changing the school environment based on respect and acceptance of other people. It implies wise management of school processes in a way which makes children feel supported to develop their capacity and to overcome hardships; which makes teachers feel encouraged and confident that they are able to cope with the growing challenges, while parents are able to assume their responsibility and role in partnership with schools.
