Green Educational Center – Stargel

We are renovating the old school building in the village of Stargel, built in 1930, to transform it into a Green Educational Center – a place for non-formal learning, community gatherings, and shared activities.The building was originally constructed nearly one hundred years ago through voluntary work and donations from local residents. In the 1980s it ceased to function as a school and was later sold with the idea of becoming a nursing home. Today, as a property of the Association for Shared Learning ELA, the building is regaining part of its educational role in a new context and with new content.

The project includes the reconstruction of the building and its development as a space for non-formal education that combines traditional skills, old crafts, and work with new technologies. The plans include educational halls, an indoor stage, workshops, a shared dining space, a large veranda, and a 4-decare outdoor area suitable for demonstration, educational, and sports activities. The workshops will include a cooking studio, a technical room, and a space for musical instruments.

The restoration of the school is taking place in stages, with the participation of volunteers, local residents, craftsmen, and donors. Partial completion of the center is planned for 2026, with full completion expected in 2027. To date, more than 800,000 BGN have been invested in the project through donations, volunteer work, and partnerships.
